With a BFA in sculpture and a background in luxury hospitality and customer service management I successfully launched my own high-end jewelry design business in 2004, (www.blairlaurenbrown.com). It was there that I gained first hand knowledge of consumer acquisition and operating within the competitive marketplace. It taught me to appreciate the integrity of a business entity with operating principals in alignment with those of the founders, by illustrated by an engaged audience and in turn loyalty. That gave way for the concept of full circle (360) lifestyle marketing.
It also, with the financial crash of 2008, gave way to the art of a graceful failure. The disposable income of my key consumer quickly dried up - as did my earnings. I did the only thing I knew I could: I dug my heals in and leveraged what I had learned about lifestyle communications for the service of other brands in my backyard. Alaskan born, I was raised as a child of the mountains and adventure, thus following a collapsing business with a new business seemed like the only thing I could do. I founded an 'agency,' my consulting business in 2009, supported of various friends turned clients in the outdoor industry.
I spent my free time learning everything I didn't already know about diversifying an audience in all developing channels. Looking to find a way for companies to be more intematly connected with their staff and with their consumers, I quickly found that organized systems for communication both internally (socially) and with the world surrounding a business (branding & public relations) was paramount. Using a communication style that aligned with the verticals understood by consumers in each particular channel - flowing seamlessly between direct and analogue, I identified unforeseen opportunities. Leveraging what each brand embodied, and their own operational strengths I was able to create executable plans for consumer outreach and retention.
My skill set is now designed specifically to operate as an agent for connectivity - focusing on aligning businesses with sustainability in both operational style & foundational development. I now develop executable growth strategy with clients all over the country in luxury services ranging from apparel & fashion, to outdoor and wellness. I see no limit to the potential of any business willing to stay focused, and work hard to reach their goals, and I love that being a part of the process.
